School update

From Ron Dalton

Good afternoon members of the Class of 1960. For those of you that I have not had the pleasure of meeting yet, my name is Ron Dalton, and I am a proud member of the Class of 1979 and along with the other members of my family, a graduate of St. Leo’s school as well.  I left my job of 22 years at Bose Corporation in Framingham 3 years ago to lead the Development office here at Saint Raphael Academy. Reliving my time at Saints through our current students and knowing that I am making a difference in their lives every day with the help of our amazingly kind and generous alumni family is truly rewarding and fulfilling.

I know some of you recently got together to celebrate your 65 year graduation anniversary from Saints and I hope you had a great time catching up and sharing special memories together. I spoke with Mike McCarthy on Tuesday and it sounds like it was a terrific day.
I am writing to you in my official capacity to make you aware of a few things tied to my office.
Currently, there are two scholarships associated with your class; a Class of 1960 scholarship and the Denny O’Brien Memorial Scholarship, and both no longer have any money left in their accounts.  We are cleaning up our scholarship website and will be removing inactive accounts, but I wanted to reach out to the class before removing these in the event anyone wanted to make a gift to either fund to keep them active.   Should you want to do that, you can charge your gift using this link  https://www.saintrays.org/give/ or you can direct funds to the school as part of your required minimum distributions from traditional IRA’s, 401(k) plans, 403 (b) plans or other approved contribution plans. You can also send a check made out to Saint Raphael Academy to: Saint Raphael Academy, 123 Walcott Street, Pawtucket, RI 02860, Attn: Ron Dalton.
Lastly, some of our most exciting news around campus surrounds a decision we are waiting to hear about from our new Bishop allowing us to open a middle school in September of 2026.  Our hope is to add 25 students in the 6th, 7th and 8th grades in the current White Building. We kicked off a campaign called “A Million Reasons to Love Saints” at the end of February to help us in three areas; Infrastructure, Financial Aid and Endowment, all of which will not only allow us to execute this plan but will help cement the legacy of Saint Raphael Academy for another hundred years.  Should anyone want to learn more about this opportunity, please contact me at rdalton@saintrays.org or call me at 401-723-8100 x 120. If you are ever in the area and want to come see what the campus looks like today, please contact me and we will arrange to provide you a tour; it will be my pleasure.
Thank you for your continued kindness and amazing generosity and support of Saints and our students.  We can never say thank you enough for our tremendous alumni family that allow us to continue to live our mission of providing a great Catholic, Lasallian education to the next generations of great Saints students, just like all of you.
God Bless, Continued Best Wishes for Good Health for you and your families and Have a great rest of your day!
In Peace
Ron
